DINETTE CAKE

  • 1 1/4 cups flour

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • 1/3 cup shortening

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 8" square pan. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl for 3 minutes with a mixer (or beat it up by hand). Bake 35-40 minutes until top springs back when touched. Cool before frosting.
