Strawberry Tart

  • 1 cup flour

  • 3 tab sugar

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup melted butter (or margarine)

  • 1 egg yolk (no white!)

Press into a 10" tart pan with your fingers (might fit your two 6" round pans) and bake at 350 degrees/ 20 minutes or until brown.

Cream layer

  • 8 oz. cream cheese softened

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • Fold in 1 carton of cool whip or beat up a half cup of whipping cream and use that.

Strawberry layer

Clean and cut up strawberries and mix with glaze to spread over cream layer.

The glaze I now buy in a jar but I used to make it from scratch (it doesn't come out as pretty and red...)


Mix 1 cup sugar and 3 tab cornstarch in a pan. (this breaks up lumps in the cornstarch). Put on the heat and gradually stir in 1 cup really smashed strawberries. Cook until it boils for one minute, stirring the whole time so it doesn't burn. Let it cool down and then mix it with strawberries and put on top of the cream layer.
