LEMON HEARTS
(Recipe from Sue Sailhamers Swedish Grandmother)

1 cup butter (or margarine)

1 cup sugar

2 cups flour

grated rind of one lemon plus the juice from that lemon
Mix until butter blends into dry ingredients to make a dough. Roll
thin on a floured surface and cut into heart shapes. (in Costa Rica
Dad made me a heart shaped cookie cutter by bending a tuna can!)
If you have marashino cherries cut into tiny pieces and put a little
piece at the top cleft of each heart. Bake 350 degrees for about 10
minutes until slightly brown on the edges.
