Basic Steps to applying to US high schools:

1. Find schools and narrow down the list (include safety/reach schools)

2. Contact the schools to show interest, usually through a form on their website

3. Optional: Visit the school campus, usually during vacation

4. Start the application process:

   1. Fill out the school's application form

   2. Write student/parent essays, writing samples and short answers

   3. Ask teachers to write letters of recommendation (Nov/Dec; includes paper copies and online; make sure to pre-fill top of paper forms; teacher should return in closed, sealed envelopes)

   4. Submit transcript requests to WFLMS

   5. Pay the application fee

   6. Mail necessary documents (if not submitting online)

5. Wait for the good news!
